Wilde goes bird watching in the green

The Pacmar Golf Day was held on Friday, 7 November 2008! The sun sported the perfect weather for a day on the golf course in Wellington. The fun waterholes provided hydration for the 21 teams that took part in this event. Among these, Pacmar entered three teams. The day was well supported by all the teams, and a whopping R 100 000 was accumulated for the charity fund raiser. Pacmar thanks all the participants and sponsors for making this day such an enjoyable experience.

Witness the speed, skill and fitness

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice sponsored refreshment at the Inter-Provincial Sevens Tournament, that took place over the first weekend of November 2008. Rugby Sevens is an alternative to the traditional fifteen a side rugby union, and games last up to a total of 15 minutes, allowing for a one minute break at halftime. The game is focused on speed, skill and fitness, so much so, that the field size remains the same as the game's traditional counterpart. Wilde had a gazebo on the side line, where they could keep track of the events that took place on the field. It was positive exposure for Wilde, as players and spectators alike found the pure pressed goodness of Wilde very soothing.

It's the way our packs like to say, "Elo."

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is featured again, this time in the November 2008 edition of Milk & Juice Magazine. But this time around, they wrote an advertorial on Elopak's unique and innovative packaging solutions. The Wilde Fruit Juice 1 litre Elopak was given as a prime example of their good work. And a job well done, indeed, Elopak.

The good folk at Milk & Juice were even so kind as to put the Elopak/Wilde Fruit Juice ad on the inside front cover of the magazine.

Réniell is at it again...

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice sponsors Réniell Matthysen - a superb track cyclist who is making a great comeback after a quiet cycling year in 2007.

The Neotel Yorkshire Cycling Club hosted its first local Summer Track League (STL) at the Faure Street Stadium in Paarl on Friday 10 October 2008.

Réniell Matthysen was dominating the night's open category race. Then he went on to take victories in the 15 lap point race, elimination race as well as the Elite 3 lap scratch race. He did well, although receiving some stiff competition from Brandon Christians - the up-and-coming junior rider from Neotel Rhadsport.

The second leg of the STL was held on Friday 17 October 2008, where, Réniell faced some opposition from Garth Thomas (Tygerberg), Wesley Bradshaw (Bellville CC) and Brandon Christians.

Réniell opened the evening with a convincing win in the 15 lap scratch race. Then he also thrived by taking first place in the 3, 6 and 30 lap races. The elimination race saw Réniell Matthysen take second place after a good, but challenging run.

Keep it up, Réniell!

We are going to the mountain

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice refreshed the contender goodie bags, by sponsoring 200 ml Wilde juices for the riders who took part in the Oudtshoorn Mountain Bike Marathon over the weekend of 26 to 27 September 2008. The race covered a good 300 km of non-technical off-road riding over three days in the scenic countryside of the Karoo. Although scenic, the race was still tough - testing physical endurance with a lot of uphill climbing. So the riders certainly needed a Wilde boost of pure pressed goodness after the enduring races that took them past tobacco, ostrich and beetroot farms. Our Wilde distribution manager, Hannes Cooper, attended this event in support of his son, Timo, who also took part in the race.

For more information about the event, visit the maxxis website.

Going natural, organically

On the weekend of 17 to 19 October 2008, the CTICC hosted the fifth Natural and Organic Exhibition - an event dedicated to inspire South Africans to view their lifestyle and think about the health choices they make as individuals. The best range of local organic, natural, eco-friendly and socially aware products are exhibited. Among the many "green" exhibitors, Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice displayed the pure pressed goodness of their range of 100% natural fruit juices - the new packaging and display complemented each other very well. The Wilde stand experienced a constant buzz, as people couldn't seem to get enough of the next best thing to eating fresh fruit.

Réniell - a force to be reckoned with

Track cyclist extraordinaire, Réniell Matthysen, is sponsored by Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice. He took part in the Western Province Track League that was held on 13 September 2008 at the Bellville Velodrome. Here, he took first place in all the Elite Individual Items, ensuring him a spot in the Kerin Finals. The commentator of the day commented on Réniell's extreme performance and mentioned that he's sponsored by Wilde Fruit Juice. In the red

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice gained some great exposure through red espresso®'s promotional campaign that ran during August at @home stores. Wilde Apple is an ingredient used in fresh red®, which is red espresso® poured over apple juice and ice. The promotions gained great response and generated good sales.

Some @home stores even had well presented jugs of fresh red®, the drink that contains Wilde Apple as an ingredient. The promoters spoke to a few consumers, who were all impressed and thought that it was a fantastic drink.

This is a successful partnership - Wilde Pure Pressed Fruit Juice owes
red espresso® a great big "THANK YOU!"

We have a new face

With the exciting new look for Wilde Pure Pressed & Squeezed Fruit Juice 1L Elo Pak, Wilde now introduces the new 200 ml Tetra Pak, which will be available in store by end September 2008. The decision to revamp the packaging and add to the product offering was made in order to create a fresh, more up-market appeal for Wilde Fruit Juice - an appropriate companion to the health conscious individual or the fruit cocktail consumer. Now you can keep the 1L Wilde Pure Pressed & Squeezed Fruit Juice in your fridge and carry the new 200ml in your handbag, fit it into your child’s lunch box or just for the convenience of it.

Wilde is part of an unique fruit juice category as it's made from 100% pure pressed and squeezed fruit, containing no preservatives or additives, thus retaining most of the nutrients of the fruit in the juice. Wilde Fruit Juice is one of South Africa's top long life pressed and squeezed fruit juice brands and has extended shelf life of eight months outside the cold chain.

Wilde Pure Pressed & Squeezed Fruit Juice, in its environmentally sound packaging can be transported at either ambient or room temperatures, so energy is saved during distribution. The packages are extremely light weight and can be packed like building blocks, thus saving space and reducing fuel emissions.

Tomcat Advertising Agency (Pty) Ltd incorporated colour to communicate each of the flavours individually. These flavours include Tropical, Apple, Mango, Wild Berry, Orange, Guava, Red Grape and Pear. The packaging design uses clean cut lines and bold colours on a contrasting white backdrop to draw more attention to the fruit on the packaging. The concept behind the design for Wilde Fruit Juice was to give all the glory to the fruit. There are eight variants of Wilde Fruit Juice available in a 200 ml Tetra Pak and nine variants in a 1 L Elo Pak, available at most retail outlets.

We put the "Juice" in Milk and Juice

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is featured in the September edition of Milk and Juice magazine, a magazine that deals with everything to do with... well, milk and juice. We are proud to say that Elopak used Wilde Fruit Juice in a print ad on the magazine's back cover. Pat on the back, Elopak.

So why does Wilde Fruit Juice use Elopak?

Wilde is one of the first fruit juice brands to make use of this efficient and innovative technology in South Africa - making us a market leader in the long life fruit juice category. Our juice is pasteurised, unpreserved and packed in a re-sealable gable top carton with an anti-tampering ring concealed within the closure. The wide mouth of the screw cap makes pouring and re-sealing convenient.

Elopak's unique design allows for more branding opportunities on the packaging, thereby opening new doors of communication. We made good use of the flattened fifth corner of the Elopak, by adding, "Pressed and Squeezed," on the fifth side.

The Alu Board that Elopak is made from, allows extended shelf life for our juice - up to eight months outside the cold chain! So you can be sure to purchase a fresh and healthy drink - no wonder Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is the next best thing to eating fresh fruit.

Natural talent has no substitute

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is a proud sponsor of cyclist, Reniell Mattysen. After a brief absence, Reniell returned to the indoor cycling arena with a bang. Reniell competed against indoor series leaders, but impressively, came second in the qualifying race. This seemed to be Reniell warming up, as he later took first place in the final race. A spectator commented on Reniell Matthysen's comeback, saying, "Natural talent has no substitute." Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is proud to fuel such local talent.

It worked before. Let's do it again, but better.

As the previous Sunday Times Food Show was a great success, the 2008 Food Show was much anticipated - with greater expectations than ever before. "Going bigger and better" was the main reasons for the excitement behind planning the 2008 Food Show which took place between 3 and 6 July at the Sandton Convention Centre.

The Food Show sported the best of local and international celebrity chefs and food personalities. A promotional campaign that featured two A-list BBC celebrity chefs, was ran with maximum exposure through access to top media channels.

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice didn't need any introduction, as most consumers were already familiar with the pure pressed goodness that the juice offers. Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice was passionately promoted by two ladies from Uptown Promotions. They informed the consumers that drinking Wilde's pure pressed fruit juice is the next best think to eating fresh fruit - which reassured the consumers that Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice is not just tasty, but beneficial too.

Sir Thomas Lipton would be smiling

This year, the Royal Cape Yacht Club is celebrating their 100th anniversary of the Lipton Challenge Cup. History has it that Sir Thomas Lipton presented the shiny, silver Lipton Cup to the Table Bay Yacht Club in 1909. This yacht club later became the Royal Yacht Club, and with a bit of heritage behind it, this annual Lipton Challenge has become a renowned, prestigious event - this year boasting with 31 entries.

The event will take place from the 22nd to the 29th of August at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town. Each yacht club may enter a single unit, and the Wilde Fruit Juice Crew will be representing the Gordon's Bay Yacht Club at this year's Lipton Challenge Cup.

Club Newlands three day rugby clinic

Wilde Fruit Juice was one of the sponsors at the Newlands Rugby Clinic held during the June/July school holidays. This clinic was run over three days but the skills taught, friendships formed and memories made will last forever. The WP Coaches Education Department supplied the clinic with an excellent group of coaches. They were terrific in teaching the boys the basic rugby skills - forming a solid foundation for the little rugby players to aid their future encounters with the sport.

After an eventful, yet exhausting three days, each boy received a well kitted goodie bag, consisting of a Club Newlands Gift Card and signed merchandise like photo's, stickers and posters of the Vodacom WP Team. Wilde Fruit Juice supplied the future rugby stars with pure pressed juice over the three days, and are proud to have been part of this initiative.

If your son is a thirteen year old, die-hard Vodacom WP fan and would love to join the Newlands Junior Club, visit the website here, to sign up for membership.

Something adventurous for October

A weekend in the juicy valleys of Citrusdal - gateway to the Cederberg.

With the sponsership from Wilde Fruit Juice, Citrusdal Tourism is hosting an outdoor weekend from 4 to 5 October 2008. This promises to be another action packed weekend for the outdoor enthusiast who owns a 2x4, 4x4, quad bike or motorbike.

The weekend offers like-minded enthusiasts two care free days of relaxing drives and challenging routes in breathtaking surroundings, with a make-yourself-at-home atmosphere for good measure.

There will be between nine and ten routes to choose from, all with varied intensity levels. The weekend is there to cater for all outdoor lovers - the extreme people who want to test themselves and their vehicles, as well as the more laid back "Sunday drivers" who just love the scenic routes.

A weekend in the crisp, clean mountain air, with lots of events - including a Wine Show, live music, flower picking and a quad fun ride - this will be one great family outing!

A look on the bright side - Western Province Polocrosse

The WP Polocrosse Team, sponsored by Wilde Fruit Juice, recently took part in action-packed Nationals Tournament, where they performed very well - proudly kitted in their bright Wilde outfits. Wilde Fruit Juice was handed to the competing teams after each game on the last day. The Wilde Fruit Juice Gazebo and Banners were evident next to the fields - receiving much attention from various provinces, giving positive feedback on the pure pressed products. The Wilde Fruit Juice display on the table was an eye-catcher at Gala-evening, where juice was sponsored to all the tables.

Wilde Fruit Juice sponsors the Gordon's Bay Yacht Club

The Wilde Fruit Juice Crew (Gordon's Bay Yacht Club) participated in the prestigious Lipton Cup 2007. Here, they are onboard their L26, in a moderate North Wester wind just off Cape Town.

Bethany House Trust - a children's charity trust

Wilde Fruit Juice were one of the proud sponsors, with Pick n Pay, of a fund raising charity day that was held on Saturday 19 April in Pretoria. This event was held to aid the Bethany House Trust – an organization that initiates, implements, co-ordinates and manages projects critical to the children and youth of South Africa.

Each entrant paid a donation fee to spin for an hour. Pacmar's inland sales manager, Renay Bunke, spent 3 and a half hours on the spinning seat for the charity trust. Approximately 750 participants took part in the day's spinning sessions - people, willing to break a sweat for a good cause.

Pacmar is looking forward to the next event that has been planned in conjunction with Pick and Pay, later this year.

The Cheese Festival 2008

Wilde Fruit Juice sponsored the kiddies' corner at The Cheese Festival 2008 - the little ones enjoyed this a lot! The show was a great success, as many visitors came out to compare local cheeses with its French, Dutch and Swiss counterparts. The country market atmosphere is truly a notable one. The Wilde Cycle Race makes headlines on Super Sport.

The night marathon.

Wilde Fruit Juice was a sponsor at the Gene Louw Night Marathon held on 7 March 2008, where juice was sold to generate funds for the school. Approximately 1 000 contenders, consisting of both parents and children, took part in this exciting event.

CTICC Woman's Show

The Woman's Show was held over the weekend of 2 to 3 February 2008. It was yet another successful exhibition, but this time it was bigger and better than before. We were the only juice exhibitors at the show, something we should be proud of. We decided to go about our juice exhibition a bit differently this year. We split the Wilde and Crystal Falls brands and displayed them at different points. This focussed more attention on each brand's individuality and helped to clearly communicate the distinctive juice intrinsics - something which is hard to do when the display is a joint venture. We focussed more on the purchaser of fruit juice for the family than our fruit juice itself, which resulted in favourable feedback, as the ladies kept on asking for more.

Klein Boishaai Fun Run
