Fresh Juice for Fresh Faces

Wilde 100% was the fruit juice sponsor at Elle Fresh Face 2011. The editors of Elle, brand managers of Woolworths and the Boss Models manager were all present, sipping away on our 100% goodness.

Elle Fresh Face sets out to find a young woman with style and substance who represents South Africa in her own unique terms. Eight beautiful finalists had the opportunity to show what they were made of, and give their story in their own words, allowing the judges to make a clear, informed decision. At the end of the night, it was Alexandra Robertshaw who made the best impression, earning herself the title of Elle Fresh Face 2011.

Congratulations Alexandra!

Pressing on in pioneering spirit

Kabous Marra and Alan Dawson represented Team Wilde at the DCM Cape Pioneer Trek, that took place from 18 to 23 October 2010. The team experienced their ups and downs, including fatigue, but they still managed to press on until the end.

Wilde Fruit Juice also made its mark as one of the proud product sponsors of the DCM Cape Pioneer Challenge 2010.

Sharing a piece of ourselves.

The DCM Cape Pioneer Trek was a challenge and definitely no walk in the park - especially when you consider the immense heat the riders had to face on a daily basis. The team was forced to take some days more relaxed than the others in order to rest out for the hectic challenges, like the epic 1 600 metres of climbing on day 4! On day 5, the determination of Team Wilde was put to the test. They didn't enjoy a good night's rest, while the route of the day consisted of possibly the toughest quarter of the race up Swartkloof Pass. In good spirits, the team pressed through to finish the trek!

A place we like to call home, even if it was only for a few days.

Ready as ever, yet so relaxed about it.

Don't be misled by the beautiful surrounds, this race was one great challenge.

Sometimes, the smallest pleasures are what matters the most.
A well-deserved boerie, indeed.

Kind Hearted Smoothies

Mr. Vascomar from Kwazulu-Natal was kind enough to share two of his personal favourite heart-healthy smoothie recipes with us... and yes, of course he allows his recipes to indulge in the goodness of Wilde Fruit Juice!

Strong Heart

1 cup of Wilde 100% Mixed Berry

1 Golden Delicious Apple (Pectin in apple skin is a great immune booster)
½ red onion (great for your heart)
3 cloves of garlic (all time legend)
1 banana
5 to 10 blackberries (berry good :P)
Pinch of salt (although you can take this recipe to heart!)

Breakfast Cholesterolator

Portion of Oats (your usual portion will do)
Wilde 100% Orange (instead of milk)

Oh, have we mentioned that mr. Vascomar is 71 years old and still as fit as a fiddle?

Waiter, make my Century a Double

Team Wilde will be participating in the Coronation Double Century Cycle Challenge on the 27th of November 2010.

Wilde will send twelve well-trained riders on this epic 202 km journey, which is limited to 200 competing teams. The route will complete a full circle, starting and finishing in the quaint town of Swellendam - the third oldest settlement in South Africa!

The route may be lavished with beautiful surrounds, but still promises to be a challenge. "Teams will complete the most challenging climbs, Tradouw Pass as well as Op de Tradouw, within the first 60km of the race." Are you up for the challenge?

We are behind Team Wilde every pedal of the way.

From one cellar to another

Wilde Fruit Juice sponsored fruit juice to fun runners on 18 September 2010 for the annual Cellar to Cellar Fun Run. The event may seem a little incongruous, but the idea of combining wine, sports, fun and health is as much a part of the Western Cape as its majestic Table Mountain.

The Cellar to Cellar consists of a 12,5 km route that took the 202 walkers/runners through the picturesque vineyards of the Paradyskloof and Blaauwklippen valleys, just outside Stellenbosch. The feedback received proved that the Cellar to Cellar really did put the "fun" in Fun Run, as most participants vowed to return for next year's event.

Have gravel, will travel

Wilde Fruit Juice was one of the proud sponsors of the Gravel Travel Mountain Biking event that took place on the 28th of August 2010.

Wilde was not only involved as a sponsor, but also as a participant.

It was a bit cold on the Saturday morning of the race, but Wilde's committed racing team of fifteen riders arrived in the right gear to take on the mountain biking challenge. Two of these brave competitors, Blake Dyason and Michael Kaufmann, showed that the cold had no affect on their high spirits, as they attempted the 30 km route in red speedos!

Team Wilde's Timo Cooper competed in the 65 km race, and after battling the challenging route and cold weather, finished in 7th position.

Pedal to the Medal

This is the Western Province Madison Champions. They improved the South African 20 km record on 28 March 2010, which was set in 1999 by cycling icon, JP van Zyl, Well done, Wilde Boys!

Timo takes Die Burger MTB title!

Timo Cooper is a promising young athlete who is not only part of the Pacmar family, but also a vital member of Team Wilde. He is a determined cyclist - be it on tar or outback, he gives it his all. Timo, you always make us proud.

Since the beginning of 2010, Timo has been taking part in various cycling events, proving himself to be a worthy opponent to older, more experienced riders. When Timo participated in Die Burger Mountain Bike Challenge 2010, little did the other riders know that they'll be following his tracks to the finish line!

Timo Cooper represented Team Wilde on Saturday the 31st of July 2010 in Die Burger Mountain Bike Challenge held in Stellenbosch. He participated in the 60 km race, a route that consisted of two laps around a single loop of 30 km. The route basically started with a climb, evening out the pack for the remainder. This is when Timo showed what he was made of, and enjoyed the fast, flat sections of the route with nothing but the wind in his hair.

Timo finished in first place with a time of 2:48:22.

The award ceremony that followed was stellar, with Timo sporting his prize on the winners podium! We would like to congratulate him on his great performance and thank him for representing Team Wilde!

Wilde sponsors 18th hole

Wilde Fruit Juice sponsored the 18th hole at a recently held Golf Day - apparently this was the best hole of the lot!

The Wilde golf team that partook in the tournament included Andre representing Wilde, Alan from FNB Zambia, Deon from Handyman's Paradise as well as Ivan Botha, a managing director.

Paul and the Wilde sales team did a good job in organising this event - well done, guys!

Wilde promo in Zambia is great success

Wilde Fruit Juice and McNab's Energy Brew are joining forces to promote their products at Pick 'n Pay Hypermarkets in the Gauteng area.
