Wilde causes a storm in-store

The Stormers Rugby Team took time out of their busy training schedules on the 4th of March 2009, to help Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice with in-store promotions at Pick 'n Pay.

Bolla Conradie and JD Moller visited Pick 'n Pay Tygervalley, while AJ Venter and Tonderai Chevangha paid Pick 'n Pay Canal Walk a visit. The promotion included a competition: Pick 'n Pay patrons who bought Wilde Juice, received autographed posters from the Stormers. The competition is a lucky draw, where a fully signed Stormers rugby ball or jersey, is up for grabs.

The winners will be announced shortly.

Vigne-à-Vigne is a good friend of mine

As you might have read in an earlier post, Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice will be providing their 100% natural fruit juice to the ABSA Cape Epic 2009. This brings us to the Vigne-à-Vigne, a "good friend event" of the Cape Epic, which is a one day race that coincides with the final leg of the grueling Cape Epic mountain bike challenge.

The closing of an exciting race needs an exciting finish location. That's why Lourensford is tops. It's an ideal venue for mountain bikers of all levels to join in the excitement of the day.

The races of the day are as follows:
The 55 km route is a challenging course that will take riders through the Lourensfield Wine Estate. Although the route goes through beautiful vineyards and plantations, it's tough and there'll be no time for sightseeing.

The 22 km route is a bit shorter and is ideal for the entry-level mountain biker. The scenic course will give riders a run for their money in the lower levels of the Lourensfield Vineyards.

The two MTN Vigne-à-Vigne routes, presented by the Cape Times, are separate from the ABSA Cape Epic Routes, and have been designed to allow approximately 60% of the field to finish before the winners of the Cape Epic are expected to arrive.

The curious attendants at Vigne-à-Vigne will get to see the cyclists cross the finish line - but while they wait, they'll definitely benefit from the Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice... the finishers will receive Wilde Fruit Juice at the end of the race. A fruitful award, indeed.

Wilde Cycle Race 2009

The 2009 edition of the Wilde Cycle Race included many league cyclists that optimised the opportunity as a way to prepare for the Cape Argus 2009.

The Wilde Cycle Race 2009 didn't want to be an event that caters for cyclists only, and therefore included numerous activities, so that the whole family could join in the fun. Saturday 21 February arrived and Wellington's tranquil country air greeted many eager patrons - some there to ride, others, just to relax.

Click on the image to see more of Ronelle Rust's photos from the day.

There was approximately 2000 cyclists that attended the Wilde Cycle Race. 1600 of these cyclists were there in their fitted multi-colour attire, to attempt the road cycling races, while the other 400 entrants were fully kitted for the extreme gear of this year's Cycle Race - the mountain biking race. A good turn out, indeed.

The winner of the big event of the day, the 94 km cycle race, was Welgemoed Moolman. The other category winners are as follows:

Sub Vet:
Andreas Struder

Vets:
Marc Wilkinson

Meesters:
Gerhard Genis

Ladies:
Jennie Stenerhag

Senior Scholars:
Jade Julius

Junior Scholars:
Brent van Rooyen

Girls:
Zenele Tshoko

For the supporters, family and friends, a food and wine tasting venue was set up, with wines contributed from farms in the region: Bovlei, Mischa, Wamakersvallei and Dunstone. The numerous food-and-drink stands saw that no-one went home with a rumbling tummy, thanks to To-dine-for Restaurant, Chef Lu, Perfect Place, The Grove, Top Chip, Limebar, The Caffé Pronto Coffee stand, as well as the good old Coca-Cola Truck. The kids were entertained with a Kiddies' Corner play-area: this sported much fun with two really big jumping castles.

In a nutshell, this was the best way to spend Saturday the 21st of February 2009. If you weren't there this year, look out for The Wilde Cycle Race 2010.

The Women's Show 2009 - Women Wilde at heart

The fifth edition of The Women's Show proved to be a great success, as it indulged in the fun, yet sophisticated, nature of women. The women that attended the 2009 edition of The Women's Show, were treated to informative exhibits, discussions and demonstrations, as well as eventful programmes of entertainment, including live acts, make-overs and a fashion show - the 20th to the 22nd February was an extravagant weekend!

Among the many presentations, Sindiwe Magona's auditory journey was not to be missed! Her story truly personified the Women's Show, an extravagant woman with an extravagant history - she shared her story, filled with hardship, hope and the will to overcome. This community activist had to struggle as a single mother of three, working domestic servant jobs, attaining her matric by correspondence and finally graduating with a BA degree from the University of South Africa, and later a Master of Science Degree in Organizational Social Work from Columbia University. In 1976, Magona was invited to join the International Tribunal on Crimes against Woman in Brussels.

All the ladies who attended the sitting, will agree of how inspirational it was.

Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed Fruit Juice displayed their natural juices at the exhibition and informed the curious patrons about the process that makes Wilde Juice so unique. It's pure pressed fruit juice that retains most of the fruit's natural nutrients, which is then conveniently packaged for a pro-longed shelf-life of up to eight months outside the cold chain. The Wilde Pure Pressed and Squeezed exhibit definitely made a mark among the women - as they realised that drinking Wilde Fruit Juice is the next best thing to eating fresh fruit.
